Alien Romulus, this is the name chosen for the next chapter in the famous saga started in 1979 by Ridley Scott, will begin filming on March 9 in Budapest.
It will be directed by Fede Alvarez, who will also serve as screenwriter and producer, and the film will also be produced by Ridley Scott with his production company Scott Free, which had already produced the previous two prequel films, Prometheus and Covenant.
In addition to Ridley Scott, the executive producers of the new Alien film will be Michael Pruss ("Our Friend"), Brent O'Connor ("Bullet Train"), Elizabeth Cantillon ("Persuasion") and Tom Moran ("The Donut King").
The cast will include David Jonsson (Industry), Archie Renaux (Shadow and Bone), Isabela Merced (Rosaline), Spike Fearn (The Batman) and Aileen Wu (Away from Home), and Cailee Spaeny (Mare of Easttown).
Also, according to Deadline, Madame Web and Dora and the Lost City star Isabela Merced has joined the sixth Alien film along with Cailee Spaeny in a currently unknown role.
About the synopsis:
"a group of young people in a distant world confront the most terrifying life form in the universe."
As for the production, the film will follow in the footsteps of Prey in terms of budget and distribution, it will in fact be a project that will be released only in streaming through Hulu in the United States and through Disney Plus in the rest of the world, with a budget that will not be excessive, all as a consequence of the success of the last Predator film that saw precisely a low budget and distribution only in streaming.
20th Century Fox is also working on the Alien live-action TV series coming to Hulu and directed by Noah Hawley.
Finally, I remind you that Alien is also at the center of rumors regarding a collaboration with Dead by Daylight:
How would you like it if the Xenomorph arrived in Behaviour Interactive's game?
