Behaviour Interactive, with Dead by Daylight, managed to find their golden goose. Born as a collaborative project with Starbreeze, they quickly gained an unprecedented influx of players. It’s worth noting that the game, for those who might not remember, was released in early access in June 2016 and stayed in that phase for a couple of months.
The game’s enormous success sparked the idea of acquiring the publishing rights from Starbreeze and thus obtaining 100% of the game’s profits. This acquisition took place two years later, in 2018, for a total of $16 million. Thanks to this, the first change was the introduction of a store to purchase skins directly within the game, using a currency called Auric Cells, precisely to maximize the profits that would come from the Dead by Daylight community.
From then on, it has been a long journey that has brought the project to where it is today, with over 60 million players, various collaborations, new features, and even the arrival of a 2vs8 mode, the most requested feature by fans for years, which will include 2 killers and 8 survivors in the same session.
One thing they have always tried to improve over the years is the amount of time needed to earn Bloodpoints and unlock characters and new perks. Over the years, they have added new missions to earn it, increased daily mission rewards, and created Tomes that offer another way to earn BP.
But if all this isn’t enough for you, a quick way is to buy a ready-made Dead by Daylight account, so you don’t have to worry about earning Bloodpoints.
However, I remind you that in July there will be the livestream that will reveal the details of 2vs8 mode and in September will be released the collaboration with Castlevania.
