After months of leaks, rumors, and community speculation, Behaviour Interactive has finally released the Public Test Build (PTB) on Steam for the long-awaited second collaboration between Dead by Daylight and Stranger Things. The PTB confirms a major crossover that expands the Stranger Things presence in the game, introducing four new Survivors and a terrifying new Killer.
According to the PTB, Eddie Munson (Legendary Skin), Robin Buckley (Legendary Skin), Dustin Henderson, and Eleven are joining the roster as playable Survivors, while Vecna arrives as the new Killer. This marks one of the most ambitious licensed updates in Dead by Daylight’s history and a significant return to the Stranger Things universe after the original chapter was removed from the game in 2021 and returned in 2023.
Who Are the New Characters?
The new Survivors represent some of the most beloved characters from the later seasons of Stranger Things. Eddie Munson, the charismatic leader of the Hellfire Club, makes his long-requested debut, alongside Robin Buckley, known for her sharp wit and close connection to Steve Harrington. Dustin Henderson, a fan favorite since season one, finally becomes playable, while Eleven—arguably the face of the series—returns with her iconic presence, completing the core group.
On the Killer side, Vecna emerges as the primary antagonist. Introduced in the show’s fourth season, Vecna is a powerful and deeply unsettling villain connected to the Upside Down, making him a natural fit for Dead by Daylight’s horror-driven gameplay. His inclusion signals a darker, more supernatural direction for the crossover.
What Is Stranger Things?
For those unfamiliar with the series, Stranger Things is a Netflix science-fiction horror show created by the Duffer Brothers. Set in the 1980s, the story follows a group of kids in the small town of Hawkins, Indiana, as they uncover secret government experiments, alternate dimensions, and terrifying creatures from a parallel world known as the Upside Down.
The series blends supernatural horror with coming-of-age drama and heavy 80s nostalgia, quickly becoming a global phenomenon after its debut in 2016. Its mix of monsters, psychic abilities, and emotional character-driven storytelling has made it one of the most influential modern horror franchises—making its partnership with Dead by Daylight a natural fit.
A Major Moment for Dead by Daylight
The release of the PTB confirms that this collaboration goes far beyond a simple cosmetic update, instead delivering a full-scale expansion of the Stranger Things universe within Dead by Daylight. While all PTB content is subject to change before the official release, the reveal alone has already generated massive excitement across the community.
With fan-favorite characters finally playable and Vecna stepping into the Fog as a new Killer, this second Stranger Things crossover is shaping up to be one of the most impactful chapters the game has seen in years.
