Ubisoft and Behaviour Interactive have officially unveiled an unexpected yet exciting crossover between Assassin’s Creed Shadows and Dead by Daylight. Unlike previous collaborations where Dead by Daylight received cosmetics from other franchises, this time it’s the world of Assassin’s Creed that’s getting a taste of the Fog.
In an announcement that has quickly grabbed the attention of fans from both communities, Ubisoft confirmed that two iconic Dead by Daylight killers — The Spirit and The Oni — will appear as skins for the protagonists of Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
What Is Assassin’s Creed Shadows?
Assassin’s Creed Shadows is the latest installment in Ubisoft’s long-running Assassin’s Creed franchise, set to release later this year. The game will transport players to feudal Japan, a setting that fans have requested for years, and will feature dual protagonists: a stealthy shinobi and a powerful samurai. The game promises to blend traditional Assassin’s Creed gameplay—stealth, parkour, and historical storytelling—with a unique cultural backdrop and fresh mechanics that reflect its setting.
The Assassin’s Creed franchise itself began in 2007 and has since become one of the most iconic video game series of all time. Known for its rich historical settings, intricate plots involving the Assassins vs. Templars conflict, and memorable protagonists like Ezio Auditore and Bayek, the series continues to evolve with each new title.
About the DbD Crossovers
Behaviour Interactive has previously teamed up with other major franchises through Dead by Daylight, often delivering in-game content that ranges from charms to full character skins. For instance, a past collaboration with For Honor resulted in an exclusive charm, while a crossover with The Witcher introduced a legendary skin and other cosmetics.
Dead by Daylight Killers Join the Creed
Players will be able to equip:
The Spirit as a skin for Naoe, the agile shinobi protagonist in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Her ghostly aesthetic and haunting presence will bring a sinister edge to stealth gameplay.
The Oni as a skin for Yasuke, the powerful samurai co-lead. The Oni’s massive frame and fearsome armor fit perfectly into Yasuke’s brute strength and warrior spirit.
This marks a rare moment where Dead by Daylight’s original characters are stepping outside the Entity’s Realm and into another iconic gaming universe.
A Familiar Horse Joins the Ride
As an extra touch for fans of Dead by Daylight, Ubisoft also revealed that Maurice, the horse from one of the game’s eerie maps — will be rideable within Assassin’s Creed Shadows. While the map in Dead by Daylight featured the horse as an atmospheric prop, it will now serve a functional purpose in Ubisoft’s expansive open-world gameplay.

Expanding Crossovers in Gaming
This collaboration shows how cross-franchise content is becoming more dynamic and immersive. It’s not just about charms or cosmetic trinkets anymore — entire characters and world elements are being integrated across genres and studios, creating deeper fan engagement.
Fans of both franchises are looking forward to stepping into Feudal Japan with a hauntingly familiar look. Whether you’ve survived Dead by Daylight’s trials or slain in the Creed, this crossover is one to watch.
Stay tuned for more updates as Ubisoft and Behaviour continue to explore new ways to blend their iconic worlds.
