Tomorrow, Dead by Daylight fans are in for a major treat as Behaviour Interactive prepares to unveil the full details of one of the most anticipated collaborations in the game’s history: Five Nights at Freddy’s. During a youtube interview at PAX East, Game Director Mathieu Côté confirmed that the new chapter—officially centered on FNaF—will be the main focus of the studio’s 9th anniversary livestream happening May 9.
“The big, big one that we’re going to talk about tomorrow in detail is our next chapter. Of course, it’s right there on the wall, and it’s Five Nights at Freddy’s. We’ve already talked about the fact that it’s coming. It’s one of the most requested collaborations we’ve had for a couple of years now. It’s finally coming,” said Côté.
While Behaviour has remained tight-lipped on specific content details ahead of the stream, leaks and teasers strongly suggest that the chapter will feature Springtrap as the killer, Michael Afton as the survivor, a new map based on the iconic pizzeria, and even a dedicated Tome, along with a host of skins—including legendary cosmetics (click here to see all leaks about it).
Côté emphasized how seriously the team has taken the collaboration, stating:
“Whenever we work on a new thing, it becomes an obsession for the team… We fall into deep, deep holes of research. A lot of people on the team watched hours and hours of Markiplier playing Five Nights at Freddy’s, played the game, watched the movie. We worked very closely with the original creator. It was a fun ride.”
In classic Behaviour fashion, this isn’t just about one new chapter. Côté confirmed that tomorrow’s stream will include a full roadmap for the year ahead, additional announcements, and a few unexpected surprises.
“There’s going to be a lot of announcements in there… a couple of things that we’re not allowed to talk about today. And there’s going to be a few surprises. It’s worth checking out.”
Fans of horror, gaming crossovers, and FNaF lore won’t want to miss this historic moment. The livestream will be broadcast directly from PAX East, celebrating how far Dead by Daylight has come since its humble beginnings—and hinting at where it’s headed next.
Stay tuned tomorrow, May 9, for the full reveal of the FNaF chapter and more.
