In a move that has sent shockwaves through the Dead by Daylight community, Behaviour Interactive has officially confirmed that the Halloween Chapter will be removed from the game’s stores, marking the end of an era for one of its most iconic licenses. Michael Myers (The Shape), Laurie Strode, and the Lampkin Lane / Haddonfield map will leave Dead by Daylight on January 19th, 2026 at 11:00 AM ET.
This clamorously dramatic farewell echoes what players already witnessed with Pinhead (Hellraiser), whose license holders withdrew their content from Dead by Daylight to focus on developing their own standalone game. History is now repeating itself — and this time, it’s Halloween.
🎮 Why Is Halloween Leaving Dead by Daylight?
According to official information, the removal is tied to licensing decisions. Just as happened with Pinhead, the rights holders for the Halloween franchise have decided to pull their characters and content from Dead by Daylight, as a new Halloween video game is scheduled to release in September 2026.
With the franchise shifting focus toward its own dedicated project, Michael Myers and all related content can no longer remain commercially available in Behaviour Interactive’s live service title.
⏰ Final Deadline: January 19th, 2026
