From March 4 to April 4, Dead by Daylight will feature a discount on all Hellraiser-related content, including Pinhead’s cosmetics and a bundle containing the killer and his skins for 1,393 Auric Cells. This type of promotion is nothing new for Behaviour Interactive, but the community is already speculating that Pinhead might be leaving the game soon.
Signs of an Expiring License?
In the past, similar discounts were applied to other licensed content shortly before their permanent removal. Stranger Things and Attack on Titan both went on sale before their licenses expired, making it plausible that the same could happen with Hellraiser.
Additionally, Hellraiser has always been a particularly complicated license for Dead by Daylight. The chapter was released quickly, without survivors or a map, because the rights to Hellraiser were about to change ownership just a few months later in 2021. Since then, Pinhead has never received any new cosmetics or content updates, something that was also confirmed by Dead by Daylight’s Game Director.
What Happens If the License Expires?
If the Hellraiser contract has indeed expired, Behaviour Interactive will need to renegotiate with the new rights holders to bring Pinhead back into the game in the future. Without a new agreement, the killer and his cosmetics could be removed from the store and become unavailable for purchase, just like the Stranger Things characters Demogorgon, Nancy, and Steve in 2021.
For Hellraiser fans, this might be the last chance to get Pinhead and his cosmetics before they are possibly removed.

What is Hellraiser?
Hellraiser is a legendary horror franchise that began with Clive Barker’s 1986 novella The Hellbound Heart and was later adapted into the 1987 film Hellraiser, directed by Barker himself. The story revolves around a mysterious puzzle box known as the Lament Configuration, which serves as a gateway to a nightmarish dimension ruled by the sadistic Cenobites—extradimensional beings that blur the line between pleasure and pain.
The most iconic of these creatures is Pinhead, the leader of the Cenobites, instantly recognizable by his pale skin and grid-like pattern of nails embedded in his skull. As the franchise’s central figure, Pinhead has become a horror icon, known for his chilling intelligence, cryptic dialogue, and ruthless enforcement of the Cenobites’ twisted philosophy.
