During a recent Q&A session with the developers of Dead by Daylight, Behaviour Interactive shared some intriguing insights into possible future collaborations for their popular asymmetrical horror game. Fans of both horror and gaming franchises may have a lot to look forward to, as a number of well-known IPs were brought up — either as direct possibilities or simply properties the developers expressed interest in exploring.
Minecraft, Dying Light & Bendy: What Was Said
Among the franchises specifically named during the Q&A were Minecraft, Dying Light, and Bendy. While no official collaborations were confirmed, these titles were mentioned in the context of future potential crossovers, suggesting that Behaviour is actively considering — or already discussing — how these universes could fit into the Dead by Daylight experience.
Minecraft, the global sandbox phenomenon, might not seem like an obvious choice for DBD at first glance, but its iconic mobs or even creepier fan-made entities could offer a surprisingly eerie twist.
Dying Light, a first-person survival horror game developed by Techland, features parkour mechanics and a brutal day-night cycle where zombies become more aggressive at night. Its gritty, intense aesthetic could pair well with DBD’s killer-centric gameplay.
Bendy, from Bendy and the Ink Machine, is an indie horror title set in a twisted animation studio. With its unique 1930s cartoon style and eerie ink-soaked monsters, it could provide both killer and map material that stands out visually.
Wishlist: Fatal Frame, Tekken, Inscryption, Faith & FromSoftware
In addition to discussing current possibilities, the developers shared franchises they’d love to collaborate with, though no discussions are confirmed yet. These include:
Fatal Frame: A Japanese horror series where players use a camera to capture spirits. A killer with a “Camera Obscura”-style power would fit Dead by Daylight’s supernatural tone perfectly.
Tekken: While a fighting game may seem like an unusual choice, Tekken has a long roster of iconic characters, some of which — like Devil Jin or Yoshimitsu — could be reimagined in a horror setting.
Inscryption: This indie psychological horror card game blends roguelike deck-building with disturbing narrative twists. Its eerie host character, Leshy, could make for a deeply unsettling killer.
Faith: A pixel-art exorcism horror game with a unique retro aesthetic. The visual style may seem minimalist, but its chilling atmosphere has won over horror fans — and could bring a unique visual flavor to DBD.
FromSoftware: Best known today for Elden Ring, FromSoftware was mentioned with admiration by the team. While no collaboration is currently confirmed, Elden Ring stands as a massive hit and a potential crossover candidate. The game’s dark fantasy world and terrifying bosses would translate well into DBD’s tone — imagine facing a Tarnished corrupted by the Entity.
No Plans for SCP Collaboration
One key clarification made during the Q&A was that Dead by Daylight will not be collaborating with the SCP Foundation. While SCP would seem like a natural fit for the game due to its vast collection of horror-based creatures and anomalies, Behaviour explained that the legal complexities surrounding SCP’s copyright and ownership status make a collaboration impossible at this time.
While nothing is set in stone yet, the developers’ openness about potential and aspirational crossovers gives players plenty to speculate about. Whether you’re a fan of indie horror, Japanese classics, or dark fantasy epics, it seems Dead by Daylight could continue expanding its already impressive roster of horror icons in unexpected directions.
Stay tuned — and keep your flashlight handy.
