In a recent interview, Dead by Daylight’s Game Director Mathieu Côté revealed some exciting internal discussions happening at Behaviour Interactive. One major topic being considered is the addition of a map for the All-Kill chapter, which introduced the popular Killer, The Trickster, but originally launched without a map. Fans of The Trickster have long asked for a dedicated map, and while nothing has been confirmed yet, the fact that it’s being discussed is an encouraging sign for the Dead by Daylight community.
Additionally, Côté hinted at the future of collaborations with Japanese intellectual properties (IPs). Dead by Daylight has seen great success with past Japanese crossovers like the Resident Evil chapter, and Côté confirmed that more partnerships with Japanese IPs are on the horizon. While no specific details have been shared, fans can expect more iconic characters from Japanese media to make their way into the Fog:
Another intriguing possibility brought up by Côté is the idea of a map featuring an ocean. The team is apparently discussing internally how to create such a map, which would bring a new and unique atmosphere to Dead by Daylight’s current lineup of environments. An oceanic map could present exciting new gameplay dynamics and visuals for both Killers and Survivors, though it remains to be seen how this concept would be implemented:
On a separate note, Jason Blum, the producer behind the upcoming Dead by Daylight movie, provided an update on the film’s progress. According to Blum, the team is still working on the screenplay, and he expressed uncertainty about how long the process will take. In his words, “It could be 5 years, it could be 12 months, you just don’t know. You can’t make the movie until the script is right.” While fans are eagerly awaiting the movie’s release, Blum’s comments suggest that it’s still in the early stages of development, and they are focused on perfecting the story before moving forward.
With all these discussions and potential developments, it’s clear that Behaviour Interactive is committed to keeping Dead by Daylight fresh and engaging for its players, while also exploring new ways to expand the game’s universe both in-game and on the big screen. Fans can look forward to more news in the coming months as these projects continue to develop.
