In a turn of events that aligns exactly with what I forecast in my September feature article, recent datamine and leak activity has now officially confirmed that the next iteration of the 2v8 limited-time mode (scheduled for 6 November to 20 November) will indeed be a collaboration with Konami. The collaboration will bring two iconic horror figures into play: Pyramid Head (from the Silent Hill franchise) and Dracula (from the Castlevania franchise) will join the roster as free killers for the event.
Why this collaboration makes sense
The mode’s previous brand tie-in featured a collaboration with Capcom (the Resident Evil franchise) which introduced Wesker and Nemesis.
The leaked data for these new killers point to Konami IPs (Silent Hill + Castlevania) which avoids some of the licensing difficulties that might arise when mixing multiple rights holders in one event. As one leak commentary notes: “While Pyramid Head and Dracula may seem a bizarre partnership… it actually makes perfect sense from a legal perspective.”
The timing aligns: community datamines and forum posts predicted a Konami-themed 2v8 as early as September.
What to expect in the 6–20 November event
Pyramid Head and Dracula will be added to the current pool of killers available in the 2v8 mode, available to play for free during the event period.
The killers will presumably join the existing roster from previous iterations of the mode, so players can select them in addition to the killers already available.
There may be themed cosmetics, skins or map variants tied to the collaboration (this was the case in the prior Resident Evil themed event).
As leak details suggest: for Dracula, a new third “Wolf Form pounce” was found in his data file – likely a unique innate power for the 2v8 mode.
For Pyramid Head: forum reference suggest enhancements like “longer trails, increased duration, increased punishment range” in the 2v8 environment.
What this means for the community
For fans of the mode and of horror cross-overs, this is very exciting. The 2v8 mode has always thrived on novel combinations and licensed content, and this looks set to be one of the biggest brand tie-ins yet.
It also suggests that Konami is increasingly open to collaborations of its horror IPs, which bodes well for future crossovers. For players, the addition of two heavy-hitters like Pyramid Head and Dracula raises expectations for both gameplay variety and spectacle.
A note of caution
While the datamines are credible and the community chatter strong, until Dead by Daylight’s developer Behaviour Interactive formally announces the event, this remains unofficial. The leaks do appear consistent and multiple sources have picked them up, but unexpected changes can always happen.
In short: the rumours you anticipated are now strongly substantiated by leak-data. Whether you’re a killer-main or a survivor-specialist, mark 6 through 20 November on your calendar — this is shaping up to be a major event.
