Chapter 31 of Dead by Daylight is coming up in march, and like every chapter, people always wonder whether it might be something licensed or original.
In the case of chapter 31 I had already anticipated this to you about two months ago, but new confirmations have come from recent leaks stating that the survivor and the killer coming in march with chapter 31 will be original, so to those who were wondering: yes, chapter 31 will be original and not licensed as Chucky Chapter.
But not only that, in fact there are numerous new features coming within Dead by Daylight, including the ability to purchase cosmetics through collections, and the arrival of Mystery Boxes and Special Packs that will contain Rift items and cosmetics.
Chapter 31 also will bring with it a spring event.
But before chapter 31 and the many features coming within Dead by Daylight, there is chapter 30.5 coming this month, in January, and it will serve to fill the hole left by the chucky chapter that featured no survivors, kind of like when a survivor-only chapter was released after the release of Pinhead.
As for chapter 30.5 there are many theories around whether or not it will be licensed, and many people believe that with PTB just around the corner (it should be released next week) and the absence of teasers (which serve in the case of original content to increase hype, just remember the whole marketing campaign for the All-Kill Chapter), it could, according to many people, mean that the new survivor coming in is in collaboration with some license, such as when Nicolas Cage was released.
The most concrete possibility is that a collaboration between The Walking Dead and Dead by Daylight is coming, which would also have a lot of potential for future legendary skins, plus also because this license has been collaborating with many games lately, and a collaboration was also leaked with CoD coming up just to promote the new TV series coming in February with Rick Grimes and Michonne coming up within Activision's video game, so the collaboration with Dead by Daylight might have the same purpose.
As in the case of Chucky, if chapter 30.5 will be licensed, then we will get the teaser just the day before PTB, because in that case there would be no need to do anything else since it will be the license itself that will generate hype in the community, and in fact until now precisely no teasers have been released.
Whether it will be licensed or not we will find out in a few days, but I would also like to remind you that a lot of new things are coming in January, there will be rework for The Onryo and The Hillbilly and also for the Swamp map, there will be FOV Slider that will allow the FOV to be adjusted, it will finally be presented how they decide to solve the 3 gen issue at the end of the game.
The Blight will receive a rework to its add-ons and some perks will be changed, namely: Shadowborn, STBFL, Grim Embrace, Quick Gambit, Monitor and Abuse.
The PTB to test all these changes will be released in early January, around the 9th or 10th. Instead, the update is expected to be released on January 30, and on January 31 there will be Tome 18.
