Dead by Daylight’s 9th Anniversary Recap: FNaF Chapter Reveal, The Witcher Collab, New Features, and Major Updates from PAX East!

During the Dead by Daylight 9th Anniversary Live Stream, broadcasted live from PAX East, Behaviour Interactive unveiled a flood of exciting content and updates coming to the game. From long-awaited features to major collaborations, the spotlight moment was undoubtedly the official reveal of the brand-new chapter in partnership with the iconic horror franchise Five Nights at Freddy’s. What Is PAX East?

PAX East is one of the biggest gaming conventions in the world, held annually in Boston, Massachusetts. Originally created by the founders of Penny Arcade, PAX events celebrate gaming culture, bringing together developers, content creators, and fans for a weekend packed with announcements, panels, and hands-on gameplay experiences. It’s a perfect stage for Behaviour Interactive to reveal the next big licensed chapter for Dead by Daylight.

Behaviour Interactive has in fact officially revealed its latest horror collaboration at PAX East 2025, bringing the terrifying world of Five Nights at Freddy’s (FNAF) to Dead by Daylight. This long-awaited DLC will introduce Springtrap as the new Killer, and a brand-new map set in Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza.

But not only FnAF, in fact it has now been officially revealed that a collaboration between The Witcher and Dead by Daylight is on the way! While it’s not a full chapter, the crossover currently includes a Geralt of Rivia skin and a cosmetic banner, suggesting a themed cosmetic event rather than a full survivor or killer release. This marks the first time the world of The Witcher—one of the most acclaimed fantasy franchises in modern gaming—crosses paths with the Entity’s Realm: click here to see all The Witcher contents coming!

During the anniversary livestream at PAX East, Behaviour Interactive unveiled the content roadmap for the next 12 months of Dead by Daylight, and it’s packed with exciting updates. Players can look forward to two licensed chapters, arriving in July and November, as well as an original chapter inspired by Asian folklore coming this September. Perhaps the most intriguing reveal was a mysterious “twist” involving an existing killer, planned for March 2026, which has already sparked intense speculation in the community. In addition, a long-requested feature is finally coming: players will soon be able to see their teammates’ perks, a major quality-of-life improvement that’s sure to change team strategy moving forward.

They also announced several quality of life improvements, including a new item for Survivors and the long-awaited “Play As You Queue” feature for 2v8 mode! This means players will now be able to play Survivor matches while waiting for Killer lobbies in 2v8, making queue times feel much smoother and more rewarding.

Additionally, a legendary skin arriving in September will bring the killer from the video game The Casting of Frank Stone into Dead by Daylight for the first time. Fans can also look forward to a new Tomb Raider skin, set to release on August 5. On top of that, Behaviour Interactive announced an exciting new feature that will allow players to design their own original chapter prototypes, giving the community a chance to creatively contribute to the future of the game.
