The announcement of Deceit 2 some time ago was greeted with much hype by the horror community and fans of the first game.
In fact, many of you will probably know and have played Deceit at least once, the FPS Horror-themed Social Deduction Game Multiplayer released in 2017 that a few months later became free-to-play.
For those who don't know what I'm talking about, Deceit is a game where you play in 6 of which 4 are innocent and 2 are infected who will have to try to kill the others without getting caught, otherwise, if someone starts to get suspicious, they can start a vote and expel the alleged killer.
As an innocent, you win by escaping from the trapdoors by resisting the attacks of the 2 infected who can cooperate and turn into monsters during the game when darkness falls.
As the infected, you win the game if you can kill all the innocents. Of course, the infected can see themselves on the map.

About a few months ago, however, World Makers, the developers, released a statement in which they announced Deceit 2, with a beta from 29 to 30 October 2022.
The very first novelty of Deceit 2 will be its game engine, left behind the Cry Engine, Deceit 2 will be moved by the much simpler and more intuitive Unreal Engine 5.
The game will also be released on consoles, Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One and Series X|S, and developers are also working on the cross-platform, allowing players to play with everyone regardless of platform (so for example if you play on PS4, you can play with those on PS5).
From Deceit 1 to Deceit 2 you’ll keep all your emblems, and Deceit 1 will remain on Steam as a legacy game.
These will be the features of Deceit 2:
- Heart Racing Combat: intense chase sequences with remastered monsters, new items, new abilities, and interactive maps provide groundbreaking asymmetric action at night.
- Deep Lore: detailed backstories, grounding our characters into a richer Deceit universe.
- Next Generation Visuals: all-new visually stunning characters and maps, and a new main menu that brings a look-and-feel grounded in the new lore.
- Rich Investigation: new items, clues and abilities add to the investigations in the ‘day’ period.
- 9 Player Games: play with larger parties, with 3 brand new in-game characters to choose. … and more!
The Asylum map and old characters like Lisa have been redesigned in the new game engine, not only, acoustics has also been revised thanks to the development of new technologies that have allowed to improve the entire audio sector of the game, with also a novelty: voice chat will become proximity, allowing you to only talk to those nearby.
And now the Reveal Trailer has been shared:
New in-game screen have also been shared through the Steam page:
