This Evil Dead Game has been in development for about two years, and the first confirmation of its existence came in early 2019 when Bruce Campbell, the actor who plays Ashley J Williams in the Evil Dead Franchise, he replied to a user who wanted a new Evil Dead game with a "Yes", confirming that something was in development:
He then released various interviews in which he let it be known that he was voice-acting for his character within the game, and then tweeted in July 2019 due to some erroneous rumors about the VR nature of the video game:
