The Dead by Daylight community is abuzz with speculation about a new collaboration with the Resident Evil franchise. Recent datamined code suggests that iconic characters like Mr. X and Lady Dimitrescu from Resident Evil: Village may be headed to the game. This follows Behaviour Interactive’s history of bringing beloved Capcom villains to the Fog, including Nemesis, Albert Wesker, and even William Birkin as a legendary skin for The Blight.
Lady Dimitrescu and Mr. X: Perfect Additions to the Fog
Three years ago, when asked about Lady Dimitrescu‘s potential inclusion, Dead by Daylight’s Creative Director responded, “I can’t answer that today.” This cryptic remark hinted at ongoing discussions about expanding the Resident Evil roster. Lady Dimitrescu, with her towering presence and loyal daughters, could be a unique addition to Dead by Daylight, possibly as a legendary skin for The Knight. Her daughters could replace The Knight’s guards, utilizing the AI mechanics introduced with Nemesis’s zombies, adding a fresh layer of strategy to the game.
Similarly, Mr. X‘s imposing figure and relentless pursuit would fit seamlessly into the world of Dead by Daylight. Known for their preference for iconic characters, Behaviour Interactive has consistently delivered memorable content from Resident Evil’s vast universe, as the creative director once explained:
“It was important to have what is considered classic in the world of Resident Evil, which is why we went for the remakes of the earlier games: the emotion, the memory of these titles we played when we were younger or that fans have experienced more recently.”

The first collaboration between Resident Evil and Dead by Daylight, featuring Nemesis, Jill Valentine, and Leon Kennedy, introduced groundbreaking AI mechanics and quickly became one of the most successful chapters in the game’s history.
