Predator’s Ghost Recon Wildlands Crossover Could Be a Major Hint at Its Dead by Daylight Debut
Could Predator Be the Next Licensed Chapter in Dead by Daylight?
A new crossover may have just given Dead by Daylight fans another reason to believe that Predator could eventually make its way into the Fog.
For years, rumors surrounding the arrival of Predator in Behaviour Interactive’s asymmetrical horror game have continued to resurface. While nothing has ever officially confirmed that the iconic extraterrestrial hunter is coming to Dead by Daylight, several clues and coincidences have kept the possibility alive.
Now, a new collaboration between Ubisoft’s Ghost Recon Wildlands and Predator has caught the attention of the Dead by Daylight community once again.
Predator Returns to Ghost Recon
Ubisoft recently released a trailer highlighting the collaboration between Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands and Predator, bringing the legendary hunter back into the world of the game.
At first glance, this might seem completely unrelated to Dead by Daylight. However, crossovers involving major horror and entertainment franchises have sometimes served as an interesting indication of where these characters could appear next.
And Predator would certainly fit Behaviour Interactive’s game.
The possibility becomes even more interesting when considering the character’s ownership and the history of licensed collaborations in Dead by Daylight.
Predator and Alien Share the Same Owner
Predator is one of the most recognizable science-fiction horror franchises in popular culture. The character first appeared in the 1987 movie Predator, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.
The film introduced an extraterrestrial warrior who travels to different worlds in search of dangerous prey. Rather than being a traditional monster, the Predator is an extremely advanced hunter equipped with sophisticated technology, including thermal vision, cloaking abilities, shoulder-mounted plasma weapons and an iconic wrist blade.
The franchise eventually expanded into several movies, including Predator 2, Predators, The Predator and the more recent Prey, while also appearing in comics, video games and numerous crossover projects.
Most importantly for Dead by Daylight, Predator belongs to the same corporate family as Alien.
Disney acquired 21st Century Fox in 2019, bringing both the Alien and Predator franchises under Disney’s ownership.
And Alien is already part of Dead by Daylight.
In 2023, Behaviour Interactive introduced the Alien Chapter, bringing the Xenomorph into the Entity’s Realm alongside Ellen Ripley. The Chapter also introduced the Nostromo Wreckage map, making Alien one of the game’s most prominent licensed science-fiction collaborations.
This naturally raises an interesting question:
If Behaviour and Disney were able to collaborate on Alien, could Predator eventually follow?
Dead by Daylight Has Already Had Predator Clues
The Predator theory is not based solely on the fact that Disney owns both franchises.
Last year, Dead by Daylight players have discovered various references that have fueled speculation about Predator potentially being considered for the game.
One of the most interesting examples is a skull found inside an arcade cabinet, accompanied by another arcade cabinet with the words “Skull Mission.”
The reference immediately caught the attention of fans because skulls and hunting trophies are strongly associated with Predator mythology.
The Predator is known for collecting trophies from its prey, particularly the skulls of opponents it considers worthy adversaries. This has become one of the most recognizable characteristics of the character throughout the franchise.
The “Skull Mission” reference therefore became another piece of evidence used by the community when discussing a possible Predator Chapter.
On its own, however, the reference does not prove anything. Dead by Daylight frequently contains environmental details, Easter eggs and references that may simply be nods to other pieces of popular culture.
But when combined with the long-running Predator rumors, the Alien collaboration and Behaviour’s history of introducing major horror licenses, the theory becomes considerably more interesting.
Could Ghost Recon Be Another Sign?
This is where the new Ghost Recon Wildlands collaboration becomes particularly intriguing.
If Predator is currently being promoted and used in another major video game collaboration, it demonstrates that the franchise remains actively available for licensing and crossover projects.
That does not mean that Predator is necessarily coming to Dead by Daylight.
However, it could make a future collaboration easier to imagine.
Behaviour Interactive has repeatedly demonstrated that licensed characters can come from a wide variety of horror, science-fiction and pop-culture franchises. The game has already welcomed characters and properties such as Alien, Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Stranger Things, Castlevania and many others.
Predator would fit naturally into this ecosystem.
In fact, the character could potentially work in an especially interesting way because the Predator is already essentially a supernatural hunter by design.
Predator Would Be a Perfect Killer for Dead by Daylight
From a gameplay perspective, Predator almost seems tailor-made for Dead by Daylight.
The character is an extraterrestrial hunter who specializes in tracking and eliminating prey. It possesses advanced technology specifically designed to locate its targets and attack them from unexpected positions.
Its signature abilities could translate naturally into Killer mechanics.
Thermal vision could potentially become a tracking mechanic. Its cloaking technology could provide stealth. The shoulder-mounted plasma caster could offer a ranged attack, while the wrist blades would provide the obvious close-range weapon.
Even the Predator’s habit of collecting trophies could be incorporated into its Mori or Killer power.
Of course, these are only hypothetical ideas. Behaviour Interactive has not announced Predator as a future Killer.
The Terrifier and Jason Precedent
There is also a more recent example that makes the theory particularly interesting.
In October 2025, Fortnite featured Terrifier and Jason Voorhees before their eventual arrival in Dead by Daylight.
This is important because it demonstrated that a major crossover involving a horror character in another game can potentially happen before the same character appears in Behaviour Interactive’s title.
For Dead by Daylight fans, this created an interesting precedent: seeing a character appear in another major game does not necessarily mean that the character is unavailable to Behaviour.
Instead, it can sometimes be part of a broader licensing relationship or simply another indication that the character is actively being used in crossover projects.
That is why the Predator collaboration with Ghost Recon Wildlands has attracted attention.
Could it be completely unrelated?
Absolutely.
Could it also be another piece of the puzzle?
Potentially.
What Would a Predator Chapter Look Like?
If Predator were eventually introduced into Dead by Daylight, the possibilities would be enormous.
The most obvious choice for the Killer would be the Predator itself, potentially based on the original 1987 design.
A Chapter could also introduce a Survivor connected to the franchise, although there are several possible choices depending on which era of Predator Behaviour wanted to represent.
The map could be inspired by the jungle from the original movie, a futuristic Predator hunting ground, or even another iconic location from the franchise.
The Killer’s power could revolve around tracking Survivors, stealth and advanced technology, creating a playstyle based around hunting rather than simply chasing.
That would also give Behaviour the opportunity to make Predator feel genuinely different from existing Killers.
But There Is Still No Confirmation
Despite all of these connections, it is important to separate evidence from speculation.
There is currently no official confirmation that Predator will be the next licensed Chapter in Dead by Daylight.
The Ghost Recon Wildlands collaboration does not confirm a Behaviour Interactive collaboration. The “Skull Mission” reference does not officially identify Predator. And the fact that Disney owns both Alien and Predator does not mean that the two franchises will necessarily appear together in Dead by Daylight.
Nevertheless, the pieces are certainly interesting.
We have a franchise that has been rumored for years, a series of potential in-game references, a strong thematic connection to Dead by Daylight, an existing relationship between Behaviour and the company that owns the property through Alien, and now another major video game collaboration featuring Predator.
None of these things proves that Predator is coming.
But together, they are enough to keep the theory alive.
Could Predator Really Be Coming to Dead by Daylight?
For now, the safest conclusion is that Predator remains a possibility rather than a confirmed Chapter.
The Ghost Recon Wildlands collaboration could simply be another standalone use of the character, with absolutely no connection to Behaviour Interactive.
On the other hand, if Behaviour Interactive is once again preparing a major licensed Chapter, Predator would arguably be one of the most logical candidates.
The character has the horror credentials, the iconic design, a gameplay concept that could translate perfectly into the Entity’s Realm and a connection to Alien, one of the most successful science-fiction licenses already present in Dead by Daylight.
And if the history of recent crossovers has taught the community anything, it is that a character appearing in another game does not necessarily rule out a future appearance in Dead by Daylight.
For now, Predator remains only a theory.
But after years of rumors, the latest Ghost Recon collaboration may have given fans yet another reason to ask the same question:
