Rumor: A Second Five Nights at Freddy’s Chapter May Be Coming to Dead by Daylight

A new rumor is circulating within the horror gaming community: a second Five Nights at Freddy’s chapter may be in development for Dead by Daylight. While nothing has been officially confirmed by Behaviour Interactive, the idea is far from unrealistic—especially when looking at past precedents and recent statements from the creator of the FNAF franchise, Scott Cawthon.

Dead by Daylight has already shown that major licensed collaborations can receive more than one chapter. Stranger Things, after initially leaving the game, returned with new content, and Resident Evil famously received a second chapter following the success of its first crossover. These examples have opened the door to the possibility that Five Nights at Freddy’s could follow the same path.

Adding fuel to the speculation are Scott Cawthon’s own words. Some time ago, he publicly stated that a “sequel” or “second product” related to an already released collaboration was in development. While he did not explicitly mention Dead by Daylight, many fans believe this could strongly hint at a second FNAF collaboration, especially considering his positive comments about Behaviour Interactive. Cawthon has praised the studio for its respectful and faithful treatment of licensed characters—something extremely important for a franchise as iconic as Five Nights at Freddy’s.

Why Foxy Makes Sense as the Killer

One of the most compelling arguments behind the rumor is the absence of Foxy from the current Dead by Daylight roster. Freddy Fazbear is already represented, but Foxy the Pirate has always stood out as one of the most aggressive, fast-paced, and visually distinct animatronics in the FNAF universe. This makes him a perfect candidate for a new killer in a potential second chapter.

Foxy’s defining traits—speed, unpredictability, and sudden pressure—would translate incredibly well into Dead by Daylight’s gameplay loop, offering something fresh while staying true to his original identity.

Imagining Foxy’s Killer Power

Killer: Foxy the Pirate

Power – “Pirate’s Rush”
Foxy can charge up a high-speed dash after a short wind-up. When activated, he sprints forward in a straight line, rapidly closing distance. If he collides with a survivor, they are injured or downed depending on their health state. Missing a hit causes Foxy to briefly stumble, creating a risk-reward dynamic.

To reflect his FNAF mechanics, Foxy’s power could become stronger the longer survivors ignore him—such as by staying on generators too long without interacting with him or stunning him—encouraging survivors to manage pressure carefully.

Foxy’s Unique Perks (Concept)

1. Out of Order
When a generator is completed, the aura of the furthest survivor from you is revealed for several seconds. If that survivor is healthy, they become Oblivious for a short duration.

2. Running on Empty
Each time a survivor fast vaults or sprints within your Terror Radius, you gain a token. At max tokens, your next successful attack briefly applies Hindered to all survivors nearby.

3. Watch the Cove
After standing still for a few seconds, your Terror Radius is reduced. Leaving this state causes your Terror Radius to suddenly expand, revealing nearby survivors’ auras for a brief moment—mirroring Foxy’s classic surprise attacks.

A Collaboration That Feels Inevitable

While this remains a rumor for now, the pieces fit together surprisingly well. A proven history of second licensed chapters, Scott Cawthon’s positive relationship with Behaviour Interactive, and the glaring absence of Foxy all point toward a collaboration that feels not only possible, but almost inevitable.

If a second Five Nights at Freddy’s chapter truly is in development, Foxy could be the perfect face of it—bringing speed, fear, and chaos to the Fog once again.

For now, fans can only wait… and keep an eye on the Pirate Cove.
