Following the success of the Alien collaboration, Disney appears to be keen on another exciting crossover with Dead by Daylight. Rumors suggest that a Star Wars-themed chapter is currently in development, potentially featuring either Abeloth or Darth Vader as the new killer. Here’s a deeper dive into what this chapter might entail, including details on the possible killer, survivor, powers, perks, and a new map.

The Killers: Abeloth or Darth Vader

Abeloth
Abeloth, known as the “Mother” in the Star Wars Expanded Universe, is an ancient and immensely powerful being tied to the dark side of the Force. She is known for her chaotic and destructive nature, often seeking to dominate the galaxy. Abeloth represents an almost cosmic horror element, making her a fitting choice for Dead by Daylight’s eerie atmosphere.

Darth Vader
Darth Vader, formerly Anakin Skywalker, is one of the most iconic villains in cinematic history. A former Jedi Knight turned Sith Lord, Vader is known for his mastery of the Force, intimidating presence, and his signature red lightsaber. His tragic backstory and menacing demeanor make him an unforgettable figure in the Star Wars saga.

For me, if there will be a Star Wars chapter, the killer will be Darth Vader. To maximize sales, it wouldn’t make sense to use Abeloth (who is relatively unknown) compared to Darth Vader, who is an iconic character of the saga. Therefore, I have imagined a full chapter with Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, and a map:

New Killer: The Sith Lord

Backstory: Once the promising Jedi Anakin Skywalker, Darth Vader was consumed by the dark side of the Force, becoming the feared enforcer of the Empire. Now pulled into the Entity’s Realm, he wields his power to hunt survivors with merciless efficiency. His mastery of the dark side makes him a formidable opponent, blending fear, control, and brute strength.

Appearance: Darth Vader wears his iconic black armor and helmet. His presence is marked by the ominous sound of his mechanical breathing. His lightsaber, a crimson blade, is used for intimidation and visual effect but is not part of his direct attack mechanics.

Power: The Dark Side

  • Description: Darth Vader uses his mastery of the dark side to dominate the battlefield with powerful abilities.
  • Force Grip: Activate to lift a survivor into the air and choke them, slowing their movement and inflicting the Hindered status for 4/5/6 seconds. Survivors caught in the Force Grip suffer a reduced ability to vault or drop pallets. Survivors must perform a struggle action to break free.
  • Force Throw: Vader can hurl nearby objects (pallets, debris) at survivors, dealing damage and breaking the object. The ability has a cooldown of 20 seconds.
  • Force Presence: Passively increases terror radius by 4 meters, but survivors within this radius have their repair and healing actions slowed by 6/8/10%.

Perks:

  1. Unrelenting Force

    • Description: Your relentless pursuit of power leaves your enemies with little chance of escape. Missed attacks reduce the cooldown of your next successful attack by 20/25/30%.
    • Cooldown: 60 seconds.
  2. Chokehold

    • Description: Your grip on the battlefield tightens with each passing second. When a survivor is hooked, the Entity blocks the two furthest unhooked generators for 16/18/20 seconds.
    • Cooldown: 80 seconds.
  3. Imposing Presence

    • Description: Your very presence weakens the resolve of those who oppose you. Survivors in your terror radius have a 5/7/9% increased chance to trigger difficult skill checks. Failing a skill check while in your terror radius results in a 6/8/10% regression on their current action.

Gameplay Style: Darth Vader is a control-oriented killer, excelling in map pressure and survivor debilitation. His abilities allow him to slow down survivor actions and disrupt their strategies, making him a terrifying presence that looms over every match. His perks are designed to capitalize on his intimidating aura, forcing survivors into mistakes under pressure.

Mori Animation: Darth Vader lifts the survivor with the Force, choking them mid-air. He then hurls them to the ground with a brutal slam, walking away as the survivor is claimed by the Entity, emphasizing his cold and methodical nature.

New Survivor: Luke Skywalker

Backstory: Luke Skywalker, a legendary figure from a distant galaxy, finds himself drawn into the Entity’s Realm. With his profound connection to the Force and unyielding spirit, Luke brings hope and resilience to the survivors of this dark world. His journey from a farm boy to a Jedi Knight has equipped him with unique abilities to confront the terrors of the fog.

Appearance: Luke wears his iconic black Jedi attire from “Return of the Jedi,” complete with a utility belt and a lightsaber hilt hanging from his side (cosmetic only, not functional in gameplay).

Perks:

  1. Force of Will

    • Description: Your resolve empowers you to act in the face of danger. When performing unhooking actions, your aura is hidden from the killer for 6/8/10 seconds. Additionally, after unhooking a survivor, you gain a speed burst of 150% for 4 seconds.
    • Cooldown: 60 seconds.
  2. Mind Over Matter

    • Description: Your training has taught you to maintain focus even in dire situations. When injured, skill check success zones are increased by 10/15/20%. Additionally, succeeding a skill check while injured grants you a small burst of healing progress (2/3/4%).
    • Cooldown: 30 seconds between healing bursts.
  3. New Hope

    • Description: Your presence inspires those around you to fight on. When you or a survivor within 8 meters is hooked, all survivors gain a 3/4/5% haste effect for 6 seconds. This effect can stack if multiple survivors are hooked during this time.
    • Cooldown: 40 seconds.

Gameplay Style: Luke is designed as a support survivor who enhances the team’s mobility and resilience. His perks are tailored to inspire cooperation, reward skillful gameplay, and provide strategic advantages in critical moments.

New Map: Death Star Interior

Setting: The Death Star Interior is a vast and ominous space station, embodying the cold, mechanical menace of the Empire. The map is a mix of narrow, claustrophobic corridors and wide-open spaces, filled with iconic Star Wars design elements like sleek metallic walls, blinking control panels, and deep reactor shafts. The oppressive atmosphere is heightened by the distant hum of machinery and the occasional TIE fighter flying past the hangar bay windows.

Key Areas:

  1. Hangar Bay:

    • A large, open area with parked TIE fighters and various crates and cargo scattered about. The space offers some cover but is largely exposed, creating high-risk, high-reward scenarios for survivors.
    • A hook is placed near the entrance to the hangar, and the openness of the space makes it difficult for survivors to rescue without being seen.
  2. Control Room:

    • A medium-sized room filled with control panels, flickering monitors, and a central console. The space is a maze of pathways with a few windows overlooking other parts of the map, offering a strategic overview.
    • Survivors can hide behind consoles, but they also need to be wary of the central pathway, which is an easy spot for killers to patrol.
  3. Reactor Core:

    • A narrow, multi-leveled area with catwalks surrounding a glowing reactor core. The space is tight, with limited places to hide, but offers vertical gameplay as survivors can jump between levels to escape.
    • The reactor’s hum grows louder when the killer is nearby, creating an auditory clue for survivors to gauge the killer’s proximity.
  4. Prison Block:

    • Rows of holding cells with some open and others closed. The cells offer hiding spots but are also dead ends, making them a risky place for survivors.
    • The cell doors occasionally malfunction, creating noise that can alert the killer to nearby survivors.
  5. Emperor’s Throne Room:

    • A dramatic and eerie area featuring the Emperor’s chair, with a large window overlooking the galaxy. The room is spacious but has limited exits, forcing survivors to think carefully before entering.
    • The throne area has a unique mechanic where survivors can interact with the controls to temporarily lock doors, creating a short barrier against the killer.

Map Features:

  • Interactive Panels: Survivors can interact with certain panels to temporarily lock doors or create shortcuts. However, these actions generate noise and alert the killer to their location.

  • Ventilation Shafts: Certain areas of the map have ventilation shafts that survivors can crawl through to evade the killer. These shafts are narrow and can only be used once before needing a cooldown period.

  • TIE Fighter Launch: Occasionally, a TIE fighter will launch from the hangar, shaking the map slightly and temporarily disorienting both survivors and the killer.

Visual and Audio Design:

  • The map is visually dark, with stark contrasts between the dimly lit corridors and the bright lights of control panels and the reactor core.
  • The soundscape includes the hum of machinery, the occasional alarm, and the muffled sound of distant battles, creating an immersive Star Wars atmosphere.

Gameplay Style: The Death Star Interior is designed to challenge survivors with its tight spaces and strategic open areas. The map offers multiple vertical elements and interactive features, encouraging dynamic gameplay and strategic decision-making. For killers, the map’s design offers both ambush opportunities and clear sightlines in certain areas, balancing the playing field.

The potential addition of a Star Wars-themed chapter in Dead by Daylight offers a thrilling prospect for fans of both franchises. Whether players face off against the terrifying Abeloth or the menacing Darth Vader, this chapter promises to bring a unique blend of fear and excitement. With the addition of Luke Skywalker as a survivor and the iconic Death Star as a map, this rumored crossover could become one of the most memorable chapters in the game’s history. Stay tuned for more updates as this rumor develops.
