The world of multiplayer horror has been turned upside down since 2016, when Dead by Daylight was released. Since then, Behaviour Interactive's project has attracted millions of players, thanks in part to partnerships with various licenses that have allowed fans around the world to be able to play with their favorite horror characters, such as Freddy Krueger, Leatherface, Michael Myers and Ghost Face.
With the success of Dead by Daylight then, many companies have tried to replicate the same success by putting to work on asymmetrical multiplayer horror games that, however, to date have never managed to replicate even half of its success.
A few years ago, therefore, the first licensed game based precisely on the asymmetrical horror multiplayer genre was released, namely Friday the 13th, which, however, due to serious balancing problems and issues that arose with the license, was unfortunately abandoned, and will also be removed from sale at the end of the year:

But there is also good news, because a new game based on the Jason Voorhees license is in development:
The team that worked on the Friday the 13th game however has recently released a new licensed product, this time based on Texas Chainsaw Massacre, which instead looks much more promising and already played by millions of players:
But not all licensed video games have been as successful, in fact recently the Ghostbusters one, the Evil Dead one, whose support has just been announced to be ending, and the Predator one, though the latter license is expected to make an appearance in Dead by Daylight soon after Alien:
After the release of a Jason Voorhees licensed video game (and another in development), and a Leatherface game, fans have long expressed another license that could lend itself nicely to a multiplayer horror game, namely Scream, and thus Ghost Face.
And apparently this appears to be becoming a reality:
But the news did not end there! Because apparently even the Halloween license holders would like Michael Myers to get a video game:
But there is more, in fact thanks to insider TheTipster it has been discovered that a video game based on the Saw license is also on the way!
According to the insider, two video games based on the Saw license have been proposed, one would be an asymmetrical multiplayer, but he does not know if it is actually in development, while the other is a AAA single-player video game (AAA means it is a high-budget video game) that is in development instead and of which he has also seen some concept art.
Apparently, the announcement regarding the Saw single-player video game will take place in early or mid-2024, with a planned release in 2025.
For those who do not know, Saw has already received two video game adaptations in the past, one released in 2009 called simply 'Saw,' and the other released in 2010 called 'Saw 2: Flesh and Blood' developed by Zombie Studio and published by Konami.
