Stranger Things Warning Sign: What Would Happen If Dead by Daylight Lost Too Many Licenses?
For years Dead by Daylight has enjoyed very high numbers in terms of users thanks to continuous collaborations with movies, video games and TV series, but in recent years there is something that is arousing doubts within the community.
It all started in 2021, when, like a thunderbolt, it was announced the abandonment of one of the most anticipated collaborations by fans: the one with Stranger Things.
In one fell swoop in fact, Dead by Daylight lost Steve Harrington, Nancy Wheeler, the Demogorgon, Jonathan Byers and the map inspired by Hawkins laboratory.
It has never been officially explained, so fans have tried to explain themselves, finding in a possible Stranger Things game in development the reason for removing the license from Dead by Daylight, although since then, there has never been a video game inspired by that TV series, in fact the only Stranger Things video games are two projects released respectively in 2017 and 2019, and the collaboration with Dead by Daylight took place in 2019, so if the reason is a video game of Stranger Things, it means that it is still in development and has never been shown yet.
Since then, however, many of the socials have tried to return the license within Dead by Daylight, and maybe somehow they have succeeded, based on the recent leaks:

Stranger Things, however, seemed an isolated case, as it was also the first time that it happened, and instead the collaboration with Netflix could only be the first in a series of interrupted collaborations, because after that, for the community, the next seems to be Leatherface for his coming game:

So what fans are asking is actually what could happen to Dead by Daylight if everyone (or almost) had to do like Stranger Things and leave the game of Behaviour Interactive?
The competition in the genre of asymmetric horror multiplayer is now very fierce, with the many independent and licensed games that are coming soon:

If most of the licenses that are on Dead by Daylight decided to make their own game (and there are already so many that are doing it, some of them I linked just now), Behaviour Interactive would end up with a roaster of licenses lower than the current one, and even the community might start complaining.
What do you think? could actually happen? and what would you do if it happened?
