The Terrifier franchise has taken the horror world by storm, and recent developments have fans speculating that Art the Clown might be making his way to Dead by Daylight. After it was officially announced that Terrifier will be part of the Halloween event in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone during Season 6, excitement has skyrocketed. Alongside Terrifier, Michael Myers—the first licensed killer to ever appear in Dead by Daylight—will also be featured in this event, sparking conversations about other potential horror crossovers.
What is Terrifier and Who is Art the Clown?
Terrifier is a slasher horror film series created by director Damien Leone, known for its gory and terrifying depiction of a sadistic killer clown named Art. Unlike many other horror villains, Art the Clown doesn’t speak, and his eerie silence, paired with his brutal and merciless methods of killing, has made him a standout character in modern horror.
First introduced in 2011 in All Hallows’ Eve, Art became the central figure of the Terrifier series. The first film, Terrifier (2016), gained a cult following for its graphic violence and unique villain, and its sequel, Terrifier 2 (2022), only grew the franchise’s fanbase. This year, Terrifier 3 is set to release, continuing the blood-soaked story of Art the Clown, who has quickly become an icon in the horror genre.
Dead by Daylight: A New Home for Art the Clown?
There’s no official confirmation yet, but the Call of Duty Halloween event has stoked the fire of speculation. Considering that Dead by Daylight has a history of collaborating with iconic horror franchises, from Halloween to Ringu, fans are wondering if Terrifier could be the next big name to join the Dead by Daylight roster.
The timing feels right. According to leaked roadmaps, Dead by Daylight has several licensed chapters planned for 2025 and 2026, which could include beloved horror villains like Art the Clown. This isn’t just idle speculation—there’s some history behind it. In 2022, Terrifier producer Damien Leone made several tweets tagging Dead by Daylight’s official account, seemingly in an attempt to catch Behaviour Interactive’s attention and bring Art into the game.
While Behaviour has yet to respond publicly, the tweets from the Terrifier Producer stirred excitement among Dead by Daylight and Terrifier fans alike. The addition of Art the Clown would align with Behaviour’s ongoing strategy of introducing new licensed killers that offer something unique to the game:

The Dead by Daylight Roadmap Leaks
According to the leaked roadmap, Dead by Daylight has a packed schedule of new chapters through 2026, including multiple licensed killers. Here’s what the leaks suggest:
- April 2025: Original killer based on a lawyer
- June 2025: A Five Nights at Freddy’s chapter
- September 2025: Another licensed killer, still unconfirmed
- October 2025: Licensed survivor chapter
- December 2025: Original chapter
- March 2026: Full licensed chapter
With these major releases lined up, there’s room for speculation that Art the Clown could join the Dead by Daylight roster in one of these slots. The idea of pitting survivors against this bloodthirsty and unpredictable killer would undoubtedly excite fans.
The Potential Impact of Art in Dead by Daylight
Bringing Art the Clown into Dead by Daylight would introduce a new layer of horror to the game. Known for his gruesome kills and unsettling appearance, Art could offer a new playstyle focused on psychological terror and intense, graphic violence. His silent yet menacing demeanor would make him a terrifying presence for survivors, much like other iconic killers in the game.
With Terrifier 3 (and 4) on the horizon, adding Art to Dead by Daylight would also be a timely collaboration, capitalizing on the growing popularity of the franchise and expanding its reach to a broader audience.
Adding to fan speculation, a recent tweet from the producer of Terrifier confirms that they had already attempted a collaboration with Dead by Daylight and that it wasn’t their fault it didn’t happen. However, they hinted that a collaboration could still happen in the future, possibly aligned with the release of Terrifier 4.
This might be the collaboration that Dead by Daylight’s Game Director mentioned as having ”fallen through despite strong interest from both parties”.
It’s speculated that the reasons could be financial, or perhaps BHVR simply didn’t have any release slots available for a Terrifier chapter in 2024, even with Terrifier 3 currently in theaters:
To add to all this, Terrifier creator Damien Leone revealed at the Terrifier 3 Panel at Creepy Con that, in addition to Funko Pop and Call of Duty, two more collaborations are on the way—one of which, he says, will blow fans’ minds. It could very well be the one with Dead by Daylight!
While nothing has been officially confirmed regarding Art the Clown’s arrival in Dead by Daylight, the Call of Duty Halloween event and past interactions between Terrifier’s producer and Dead by Daylight suggest that it’s a real possibility. With upcoming chapters lined up and a history of horror collaborations, fans of both franchises are eagerly awaiting any news on whether this nightmare-inducing clown will join the Entity’s realm.
Could Terrifier be the next iconic horror franchise to make its mark on Dead by Daylight? Only time will tell.
