A few months ago Behaviour Interactive finally found a way to vary the gameplay of Dead by Daylight, which was released nearly 10 years ago in 2016.

What has been decided to do in fact is the creation of slight variations to the gameplay called 'Modifiers,' which are limited-time events in which there are certain things that are changed from the normal gameplay mode.

For example with the release of Alan Wake there was the first modifier, called Lights Out and which involved lowering the brightness of the game almost to a minimum, and removing perks, add-ons, and most maps (it was only playable on 4 maps in fact). Not only that, in fact, blood trails were also being reduced as well as the tracks left behind when a survivor runs.

The Team said that Lights Out was only an experiment (which in fact lasted only 7 days) and that more modifiers would be released during the year.

And in fact just days ago a screen was leaked due to Xbox showing the new modifier with the name and related graphics:

It will be called Chaos Shuffle and should refer to perks, probably something about the fact that survivors and killers will spawn on the map with randomly chosen perks.

And it was then also confirmed by Behaviour Interactive with a post on socials:

New information about this event arrived including dates and what will be changed in terms of gameplay.

Regarding the dates, the event will run from May 16 to May 21 and as expected by many, it will simply be about the random choice of perks:

The rewards for this modifier will be linked to an event tome where you can get a badge, a banner, and a charm:

In addition, the game size for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S has been changed, in fact it has been reduced to 20gb for both consoles:

Moreover, as voted by Dead by Daylight's Japanese Twitter community, the Tanuki, a kind of Japanese raccoon dog, will be added to the Yamaoka Estate map, and if you encounter it a score event will be triggered:

And there will be new skins coming in the next few weeks including one for Nicolas Cage and Ghostface:

Dwight and The Nurse cosmetics will be released on May 2nd

Felix, Feng Min and Yun-Jin cosmetics will be released on May 9th

Nicolas Cage skin will be released on May 14th

The Hag and The Twins cosmetics will be released on May 21st

Renato, Ace, Thalita, and Gabriel torso skin will be released on May 28th.

Ghostface Mask skin will be released on May 28th.

The roadmap for the month of May has also been released, making official the date of the anniversary livestream in which news regarding Dead by Daylight will be presented as well as the release date of Chapter 32:

Moreover, on June 4 the Chapter 32 will be released and on June 13 the masquerade event will begin as last year, there will also be various discounts regarding many skins released throughout the years.

And just about the new chapter some suspect that it may be the killer of Dead by Daylight's new game in collaboration with Supermassive Games (Until Dawn, The Dark Pictures Anthology, The Quarry) namely The Casting of Frank Stone which is by the way scheduled for release just this year and of which a new teaser was shared just yesterday:
