Like a bolt out of the blue, it was revealed yesterday that the next chapter to come to Dead by Daylight will be the collaboration with Alien, which I have been telling you about for months now saying that the next two chapters will both be licensed, and many hints about the Alien collaboration were also in the previous chapter in June:
But many of you are rightly wondering what this chapter will contain, since you can tell very few details from the teaser released yesterday:
From the information I have, the chapter should have the killer to be called 'The Xenomorph,' it should have a licensed survivor namely Ellen Ripley, the protagonist of the saga, and a map inspired by the Nostromo ship seen in the first film.
So it should be a chapter that will have killer and survivor, and in theory also the map, but on this last information unfortunately I cannot guarantee it 100%, but it should be there.
Ellen Ripley will be the second licensed survivor in a row after the arrival of Nicolas Cage:
For those who don’t know what I'm talking about, Alien was born in 1979 from an idea by Dan O'Bannon and Ronald Shusett, directed by Ridley Scott and produced by 20th Century Fox, still considered one of the masterpieces of Ridley Scott and one of the best science fiction films ever. After the incredible success of the first film, others followed, with some crossover films with Predator, but no film succeeded in surprising as the first of Ridley Scott.
Since 1979, the fanbase of Alien has become huge, and huge is also the desire that the community has to see it on Dead by Daylight.
The license of Alien in fact has found a way to assert itself in the world of video games thanks to Alien: Isolation, a first-person shooter horror game developed by The Creative Assembly and published by SEGA in 2014, and that is considered one of the most successful horror single player games and one of the very few tie-ins worthy of note, with an incredible artificial intelligence and well-groomed technical side.
From that moment on, fans of Alien began to grow even within video games, eager to see maybe an Alien: Isolation 2, which due to the uninspiring sales of the first chapter, has not yet become reality. And it is therefore on Dead by Daylight that all hopes are shifted to finally see Alien in a well-known horror product, after arriving on Fortnite in 2021.
And it has finally actually arrived.
About the DLC release date, there will initially be a PTB on August 8 to test the new content through Steam, and then release on all platforms on August 29.
The DLC is expected to cost $6.99.
