"Given the relationship I had with Rockstar and Sam, one night I caught up with him in his hotel room, where I knew it would be for a while, and we talked late into the night about making a movie.

It was right after Grand Theft Auto 3. I thought it was still something going on in Sam’s head that he wanted to do.

I remember answering a call at 4:00 in the morning from one of the producers in Los Angeles who had an offer for a movie. He said, 'Kirk, we have Eminem starring in a Tony Scott movie, $5 million on the nail, are you interested?'

I called Sam and said, 'You must hear this. They want Eminem in a Grand Theft Auto movie, with Tony Scott directing.' He said, 'We’re not interested'."

At that point, there was no more talk of making a film, because he understood that their franchise was bigger than any movie that was feasible at the time."

So as you can see, that project died.

The movie about Gears Of War instead was announced about a week ago by Netflix and for now there are only rumors about what could be the actors involved in the production, but the creator of the game has clear ideas about, Bleszinski in fact, via twitter, he expressed his opinion that he would prefer that Chris Pratt not be considered as an actor to be taken to play one of the characters of the game.

May I remind you that Bleszinski has no role in the choice of actors for the movie and is no longer tied in any way to the saga.
