If you didn't know about it, I leave below a piece of an article I wrote just two years ago summarizing the main important news that would have been about this TV series:
For several months now, the TV series prequel based on Friday the 13th has been officially announced called Crystal Lake which will also have many demonstrations of Jason Voorhees, distributed on Peacock and whose work is Bryan Fuller, who, among other things, worked on the Hannibal TV series:
A24 will also be part of the production, which for those who do not know who they are, are those behind the production of Euphoria by HBO.
The news that probably will please the fans is that to produce 'Crystal Lake' there will also be Victor Miller, that is the screenwriter of the first film of Friday the 13th, from which this TV series will probably connect in some way being his prequel.
And now new information about the project, in fact, the writing of the series will begin in about two weeks, and will also involve Kevin Williamson, who for those who do not know who he was, is the one who created the script for the first film of Scream 1996, which launched a saga that later became an icon of horror cinema Slasher.
But the news did not end here, in fact Adrienne King, the one who played Alice Hardy in two films of Friday the 13th, will have a role within the series:
Crystal Lake info from @BryanFuller! They officially start writing in 2 weeks (writers are here in audience). It will have two scores to choose from - a modern one and a classic Manfredini one. Kevin Williamson is writing an episode. Adrienne King will have a recurring role. Yay!

As for the seasons, Fuller has pitched four seasons of Crystal Lake TV series, but so far only one has been ordered by Peacock, although he notes that in case Peacock does not order at least the second season, he will have to pay a penalty:
Fuller has pitched four seasons for Crystal Lake. Only one officially ordered so far though he notes Peacock would have to pay a pretty hefty penalty if they didn’t order a Season 2.

And probably there will also be Pamela Voorhees within the TV series, in fact Fuller to a specific question answered:
Asked if he can confirm Pamela’s role in the Crystal Lake series, Fuller replied “We’re honestly going to be covering it all. The series is covering the life and times of these two characters” (presumably he’s referring to Pamela and Jason there!)

In fact, regarding the content within the TV series, he said that they will use 'everything', that there will be various family manifestations of Jason Voorhees and that he was pleased with the reactions of fans to the announcement of this new TV series, and as for the 'opponents' of the project, he said that even when they announced the prequel TV series of Hannibal there were the same comments, so he simply asks to wait for the final product.
As for the production, he said that the TV series will have a distinctive appearance as well as had the Hannibal TV series, and claimed that there were so many suitors to get the distribution of the TV series but were eventually convinced by Peacock, with an interesting detail shared by the screenwriter: in fact, each episode of the TV series Crystal Lake will have a budget five times higher than that he had when he worked on the TV series Hannibal, not only that, in fact he is also very satisfied with the return to work with Susan Rovner (executive producer of Pushing Daisies, among other things) ensuring that Crystal Lake will be a TV series for both hardcore fans of the saga and for those who are simply interested in high-level television storytelling.
So as mentioned above, the series will be written by Bryan Fuller, he was, among other things, producer and writer of the TV series about Hannibal, and also of Carrie, the film based on the story of Stephen King, but not only, as he also created several recent projects such as Star Trek Discovery, Dead Like Me, American Gods, and about this new project he said:
“I discovered ‘Friday the 13th’ in the pages of Famous Monsters magazine when I was 10 years old and I have been thinking about this story ever since,” Fuller said. “When it comes to horror, A24 raises the bar and pushes the envelope and I’m thrilled to be exploring the camp grounds of Crystal Lake under their banner. And Susan Rovner is simply the best at what she does. It’s a pleasure and an honor to be working with her again.”
In recent times, the intellectual property of the franchise has passed from Paramount to New Line, but at the same time it was at the center of a heated legal dispute that involved the director and producer of the first 'Friday the 13th' movie (ie Sean S. Cunningham) and the screenwriter of that film (Victor Miller).
In May of last year, the court agreed with Miller, stating that he owns the exploitation rights to the screenplay of 'Friday the 13th' and its characters. However, it does not have the title, the concept of Jason adult nor the hockey mask (introduced only in the third feature of the saga). These three intellectual properties are in the hands of producer Rob Barsamian. Important detail because the latter and Victor Miller, also with Marc Toberoff (Miller’s lawyer) and A24 Studio are the executive producers of the TV series 'Crystal Lake', which is born, potentially, with the ability to field all the main elements of the franchise.
Here ends that piece of article from two years ago, as you could read, the ingredients for a successful series were all there, and instead after the sad news of the cancellation of the Friday the 13th fan-made game a few months ago:
The sad news has come that this TV series has probably also been cancelled, Jeff Sneider reported the news on theinsneider.com website:
At the moment there are no official statements from A24 or Peacock which was supposed to distribute the TV series, if there are any updates I will of course keep you updated through these pages.
